C COM Solutions Ltd. (“we”, “us”) provides life insurance and insurance-based investment services in Alberta. Protecting the personal information our clients and visitors share with us is central to the trust our work depends on. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It reflects the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect
- Through this website: the name, email address, phone number and message you choose to send us through the consultation form.
- When we work together: identity details, contact information, financial information (income, assets, debts, existing coverage and investments), beneficiary and family information, and, for insurance applications, health and lifestyle information required by the insurer.
We collect only what is needed for the purposes described below.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your inquiry and arrange a consultation.
- To understand your situation, assess your needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- To prepare and submit applications to insurance companies and product issuers, and to service your policies and contracts afterward.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including verifying your identity and keeping records under Canada’s anti-money-laundering legislation, and the requirements of the Alberta Insurance Council.
Consent
We ask for your consent at the start of our relationship and again if a purpose changes. Sensitive information, such as health information, is collected with your express consent. If we record a phone call, we will tell you at the start, explain why, and stop recording if you prefer that we do not. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; we will explain how withdrawing may affect the services we can provide.
Who we share it with
- Insurance companies and product issuers you choose to apply with, and the managing general agency that supports our business.
- Service providers who help us operate, such as client-management, email and secure cloud-storage services, under confidentiality obligations.
- Another licensed advisor who covers our clients during a temporary absence, or who takes over our practice, under a confidentiality agreement. We will let you know if this happens.
- Your other advisors, such as your accountant or lawyer, only with your consent.
- Regulators or authorities where required or permitted by law.
We do not sell personal information, and we never share it with third parties for their marketing.
Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers store information outside Canada, for example in the United States. Information stored in another country is subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities.
How we protect it
We use physical, technological and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including secured files, encrypted and password-protected devices, secure email practices, and access limited to people who need it for their work.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for, or as long as the law requires. Records no longer needed are securely destroyed: paper by shredding, electronic records by permanent deletion.
Your right to access and correction
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete. Please send your request to our Privacy Officer; we will respond within 30 days.
If a breach occurs
If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and report it to the appropriate privacy commissioner, as the law requires.
This website
This site uses a cookie to remember your language preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in the process. Links to government calculators and other outside sites are governed by those sites’ own policies.
Mortgage services
Mortgage services are provided separately through C&C Business Services Inc., brokered under Mortgage Connection Ltd., and are governed by their privacy policies.
Concerns and complaints
If you have a concern, please contact our Privacy Officer first so we can address it. We acknowledge every privacy concern within one business day. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy regularly and will post any updates on this page with a new date.
